Other Substance Use Disorders
Anti-craving medications and other treatment is available for alcohol, benzodiazepines, cocaine/methamphetamine/stimulants, cannabis, tobacco, gambling, and others. Counseling is often combined with medications.
Better Days Clinic offers comprehensive addiction care that has supported thousands in their recovery from substance use.
Concurrent Disorders
A concurrent disorder refers to when a person has both substance use and a mental health problem at the same time. Self medication of mental health problems with substances is common and may lead to addiction. Common co-occurring mental health problems may include anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD/trauma, and others.
All patients are screened for mental health problems. If a diagnosis is made, treatment with counseling and/or medications will be offered. Concurrent disorders have better outcomes when 1 doctor treats the mental health and addiction together, rather than multiple doctors with separate treatments.
